Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with at least 7 years of experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will lead backend development initiatives, architect microservices, and ensure system reliability as Taly scales across multiple verticals and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and optimize RESTful and event-driven APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Implement real-time event streaming and asynchronous processing using Kafka.
• Architect and maintain microservices deployed on AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway).
• Optimize application performance and scalability across large transaction volumes.
• Implement strong security, encryption, and compliance measures in line with PCI DSS requirements.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams for seamless integration and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring high system uptime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of backend development experience in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Kafka or similar event streaming platforms.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (ECS, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Experience designing and maintaining microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
• Deep understanding of API security, authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and encryption standards.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
• Experience with financial systems, payment gateways, or BNPL platforms is a strong plus.
