We are an online art gallery seeking a professional PHP Backend Developer to join our remote team. The successful candidate will work on the systems that support our digital catalog, artist portfolios, and e-commerce functionalities. You will be responsible for maintaining and extending our backend services in a collaborative environment that values steady delivery and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain PHP-based APIs and services.
• Integrate with content management systems and e-commerce platforms.
• Optimize MySQL database queries for performance and scalability.
• Ensure application security and data integrity.
• Implement caching strategies and message queueing systems.
• Write unit and integration tests using PHPUnit.
• Document API endpoints for internal and external use.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and content teams on feature development.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in PHP 8+ and a modern framework (Laravel or Symfony).
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Composer, Docker, and Git.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).
• Experience with performance profiling and optimization.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with image processing pipelines.
• Knowledge of content moderation tools.
• Familiarity with search technologies like Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
• Experience with payment gateway integrations.
• Understanding of Content Delivery Networks (CDN).
