Department: Operations Department
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Job Summary: A Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures, furniture, and fixtures. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting appropriate materials, and ensuring precision and quality in all woodworking tasks.
Key Responsibilities: - Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. - Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials. - Construct and install frameworks, furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, and other wooden structures. - Repair or replace damaged wooden structures and furniture. - Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently. - Collaborate with other tradespeople and construction teams to ensure timely project completion. - Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized workspace. - Follow safety procedures and comply with building codes and quality standards.
Qualifications / Skills: - Proven experience as a Carpenter in construction, furniture making, or maintenance projects. - Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. - Physical stamina and dexterity for handling materials and tools. - Knowledge of safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
Working Conditions: - Work may be indoors or outdoors depending on the project. - Frequent lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. - Exposure to dust, noise, and woodworking machinery. - May require overtime depending
