About The Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carpenter Technician role to join the Engineering team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach, The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
To ensure all wooden fixtures, fittings, and carpentry-related assets within the property are maintained in excellent condition through effective preventive and corrective maintenance in line with the Jumeirah Engineering Management System.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Technical
- Attend carpentry-related breakdowns, identify faults, and carry out repairs, replacements, and refurbishments efficiently.
- Respond to daily work orders, room/site inspections, and complete carpentry jobs such as door adjustments, hinge repairs, furniture repair, wooden paneling, locks, painting touch-ups, and gypsum work.
- Conduct Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) and Corrective Work Actions (CWA) as assigned, ensuring work is delivered to required quality standards.
- Report damages, missing items, or major defects to the Supervisor/Team Leader and suggest suitable repair solutions.
- Record all completed work accurately in the work order system.
- Follow proper procedures for requesting materials, tools, and spare parts.
- Assist in improving operational efficiency by ensuring all carpentry items operate smoothly and safely.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and the workshop area in good condition at all times.
- Respond to guest and colleague requests politely and professionally.
- Provide accurate information regarding work timelines and ensure minimal disturbance to guests.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, and other departments when attending jobs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures while using tools and equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, hazards, and near misses to the Supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to Fire Life Safety (FLS) and environmental regulations.
